NBA: The Golden State Warriors’ winning streak breaks

The Golden State Warriors’ winning streak is broken. Trae Young hit the Milwaukee Bucks with an incredible feat. Patty Mills set a new franchise record when the Brooklyn Nets won, and the Portland Trail Blazers have no chance without Damian Lillard.

Los Angeles Lakers (8-6) – San Antonio Spurs (4-9) 114-106 (MATCH REPORT)

Atlanta Hawks (5-9) – Milwaukee Bucks (6-8) 120:100 (BOXSCORE)

  • After six defeats in a row and four games in a row in opposing arenas, the Hawks were finally back home and that was noticeably good for them. Right from the start, the three-point at Atlanta was outstanding and Trae Young in particular was really up for it, his seventh (!) Throw from distance in the first half gave his family a +18 lead with +18 three minutes before the break.
  • The 7 threes in the first half were just as much a record for Trae as the 27 points (9/14 FG) in the first 24 minutes. “We just want to win,” said the youngster shortly afterwards in the half-time interview. And that was also evident in the second half.
  • The pick-and-roll between Young and Clint Capela was simply unstoppable by the Bucks without Brook Lopez, which the Hawks took advantage of and felt every play ran over the duo. Young ended up with 42 points (season record!) With 16/26 from the field and 8/13 from downtown and also played 10 assists. John Collins was the host’s second-best thrower with 19 points (8/15), while Capela happily dubbed Giannis Antetokounmpo.
  • By the way, Young is only the fourth player in NBA history with at least 40 points, 8 threesomes and 10 assists. The other three? Stephen Curry, James Harden and Damian Lillard – not bad company.
  • In the meantime, the Bucks fell again to -8, but they shouldn’t get any closer to Atlanta. Young’s eighth and final threesome with four minutes on the clock was something like the preliminary decision. The Hawks benefit from their rebound dominance (51 to 30) and their strength in the zone (52 to 34).
  • At Milwaukee Giannis was the best point collector with 26 points, but had to struggle with his litter the entire evening (9/21). Jrue Holiday (19) and Grayson Allen (18) also scored successfully.
