NBA: summary of games including the one between the Lakers and the Knicks

Carmelo Anthony was warmly applauded by fans in New York who can also rejoice in the Knicks’ 106-100 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.

Anthony played the 2010-2017 campaigns in the Knicks uniform and was applauded during a brief stoppage in the Big Apple. The latter, however, had trouble on the field with only three successful throws out of 14 during the meeting. He was limited to a harvest of 12 points.

That contribution was slim in the absence of LeBron James, who was serving his suspension match for his role in the scrum with Isaiah Steward last weekend.

Russell Westbrook took over offensively with a hat-trick of 31 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Anthony Davis ended his night of work with 20 points.

The Knicks got off to a good start with 36 points against the Lakers’ 20 in the first quarter. On the board, Evan Fournier amassed 26 points while Julius Randle scored a brace of 20 points and 16 rebounds.

RJ Barrett had 12 points and seven rebounds as the Knicks won a second straight home game for the first time this season.

Reservist Immanuel Quickley hit hard with four three-pointers in the fourth quarter. After the last of these, Tom Thibodeau’s club led 105-93.

The Lakers will find James in their lineup on Wednesday when they clash with the Indiana Pacers.

George is spectacular at the sound of the siren

Paul George forced overtime in spectacular fashion, but the Los Angeles Clippers still fell from 112 to 104 in front of the Dallas Mavericks.

The Clippers were trailing 103-100 with 1.1 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter as they put the ball back into play. George stood out enough to throw out of balance from the corner. from the field and his basket from the city center sent the two teams in overtime.

The Mavericks completely dominated overtime with nine points against just one for Los Angeles.

Kristaps Porzingis was illustrated in the victory with a harvest of 30 points. His teammate Luka Doncic came close to the hat-trick with 26 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. George finally closed the game with 26 points and nine rebounds.
