NBA 75 Euro Vote – All Time Dynasty: it’s time to vote, what is the greatest dynasty in the history of the NBA?

You certainly know it, this season the NBA celebrates its 75 years! A long and beautiful story of the orange ball, immense performances, legendary players… and legendary teams have marked the great life of our favorite League. And precisely, to celebrate this anniversary, the NBA has decided to you to vote. The question is therefore simple, it is the answer that will be complicated: what is the greatest dynasty in the history of the NBA?

Ah… the dynasties.

Just the word is seductive, always wrapped in a sort of starry veil.

Dynasty…

Whatever the sport, whatever the eras and the teams, dynasties have always marked men and women. Even outside of sport in fact, we are often dazzled by these large groups and these institutions that endure, these leaders who keep pole position as long as possible. In the NBA, precisely, we have known dynasties. Untenable armies, indomitable groups, legendary teams which for a certain period of history left no chance for their opponents. The Celtics of the 60s, the Bulls of the 90s, the Lakers of the 2000 or the Warriors of the 2010… we have seen the big team in steamroller mode.

This is the first criterion that allows you to enter this VIP club: have dominated more than a year in the NBA.

Winning a title is good, but what gives you access to paradise, which gives you the right to sit at the table of kings, is to win several. And over a short period of time! Because nothing more dominant and overwhelming than to make a double, a treble, even a quadruplet for some… There were some, but not many. There were also teams that were able to dominate over a long period of time without going back to back, but difficult to stay in the lead like that.

To celebrate its 75 years, the NBA has therefore decided to give the floor to the fans! # NBA75EuroVote

Which dynasties are present in the vote?

To determine the teams participating in the vote, it was necessary to carry out a first sorting. And in this first sorting, it was already necessary to transfer the dynasties which would have no chance of finishing at the top of the charts. It is therefore with pride and no less hype that your favorite media participated in the panel of European experts determining this finalist quintet. And yeah, now we’re asking TrashTalk to help write NBA history, so we’ll let you have your best cup of coffee in your kitchen and you can toast the screen with the mif.

# The 5 dynasties to vote for:

  • The Celtics of the 1960s : The most dominant team in NBA history. The Celtics legend started in the 1960s with a band inspired by Bill Russell and Bob Cousy leading the way. We’re not going to lie to each other, their record of 8 consecutive titles will probably never be broken. Red Auerbach at the helm, 10 titles in 13 years, nothing to add.
  • The Lakers of the 1980s : Showtime! Magic Johnson at the helm, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar at the finish, with James Worthy and a pack of legends under Pat Riley. We are talking about 5 titles over the decade, with the rivalry against the Celtics and a style of play that will change the sport forever. The greatest counterattacks of all time.
  • The 1980s Celtics : Larry Bird, Larry Bird, Larry Bird, and more. If the bird of doom alone won 3 MVP titles in a row in the 80s, the legend is surrounded by Kevin McHale, Robert Parish and iron soldiers who will make Boston an impregnable arena. Three titles in seven years, the best home record in NBA history over an entire season.
  • The Bulls of the late 1990s : Unbeatabulls ! We would have liked to include the Bulls of the entire 1990s but the vote was split into two triplets. However, the hat-trick at the end of the 90s remains legendary. The greatest season in history with 72 wins in 82 games + the title at the end, Michael Jordan at the top of his game with Phil Jackson, Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen? Stop it.
  • The 2010s Warriors : how can we not talk about them? Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, coached by Steve Kerr and supported by Draymond Green. The Chef in a trance, 73 wins on a regular basis, and the arrival of Kevin Durant who will definitely drive Golden State to the competition. Two MVPs in the same team, one of the most fun all time. Dub Nation !

So of course, we could have talked about the Spurs of Duncan and company, the Lakers of Shaq and Kobe, or LeBron’s career in the Eastern Conference, but the finalists are there! Five all-time dynasties, five legendary armies, and one to determine number 1 of all time. So which one? It’s your time to vote !
