After the Euro Trigames, the European competition in which two athletes from the La Marmora Gymnastics Society participated last month, winning two golds in Judo, one thanks to Francesco Verrengia and one thanks to Martina Tomba, here is Francesco returning to the honors by participating in the National championship under the aegis of FISDIR (Italian Paralympic Sports Federation of Relational Intellectives) which took place last week in Ostia.
Francesco who competes for the Team Ability section of La Marmora won the Italian title in the group – 73 kg., But this is not the first time but the ninth of twelve editions. In fact he has participated over the years in different categories in the – 60 kg, – 66 and now in the -73. He did not let himself be intimidated by his opponents but, thanks to his exceptional international result in the EuroTrigames of Ferrara, under the directives of Gianluca Valeri, Judo Gattinara technician, he beat the other competitors in the various matches.
His victory was thrilling and more will surely follow. Congratulations Francesco.
