Murder of Magali Blandin. His in-laws released under judicial supervision

More than fifteen days after the suicide of their son, the parents of Jérôme Gaillard, the alleged murderer of Magali Blandin, were released under judicial supervision on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. Their respective lawyers made the request last week. A release accompanied by a removal measure.

Aged 72 and 75, they were indicted and remanded in custody on March 20 for complicity in murder. They are suspected of having been aware of their son’s criminal project, who confessed to having killed his wife, Magali Blandin, with a baseball bat, on February 11, 2021 in Montfort-sur-Meu, near Rennes.

This release was ordered by the liberty and detention judge. It comes a little over a month later a confrontation between the couple and their son, on October 12. During a face-to-face meeting of nearly six hours, the role of the parents was clarified, the latter would have admitted having knowledge of the murder plan, as well as certain details.

The septuagenarians, already affected by the suicide of their eldest son several years ago, had then mentioned the psychological manipulation of their son.
