Morelos applauds achievements of its champions

Germán Villa, holder of the Indem, led the ceremony in honor of the athletes who won the State Sports Prize 2021

In a ceremony in which a festive atmosphere prevailed, the government of Morelos presented the State Sports Award 2021 to 18 outstanding exponents. The awards were delivered by Germán Villa, head of the Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of the State of Morelos (Indem), who defined the winners as “some champions.”

“You are all champions since with your arguments you had the security of registering for the State Sports Prize,” Villa explained in his speech to the award-winning athletes.

And he invited them not to give up: “I urge you to continue working, you have worthily represented Morelos in regional, national and international events. I’m sure they will win a future edition of the award, because sooner or later, the one who thinks he can win wins.

El Indem entertained the winners of the National Sports Award with a meal and in addition to the conviviality, medals and recognitions were given to the 18 people of Morelos who excelled in different disciplines.

As a way to emphasize that all the proposals that were registered for the 2021 Morelos State Sports Award are worthy of applause for their trajectory and achievements in the field, recognitions and medals were awarded to 11 athletes, three coaches and four people who promote, protect or they promote the practice of sport.

Germán Villa Castañeda, accompanied by Isaac Terrazas García, sports development coordinator from the same agency, affirmed that experience and perseverance are virtues with which great goals and objectives can be reached.

In the sports category, David Betancourt, kickboxing; the brothers Maximiliano and Paulo Strehlke, open water and swimming, respectively; Gustavo García, Osmar Cortés, Bruno González and Ángel Mendoza, Olympic wrestling; Carlos de la Sierra and Ángel Curiel, badminton; Máximo Méndez, archery; and Tabata ‘La Princesa Tibetana’ Morales, in boxing.

While in the coach area, Wendy García was recognized, associated struggles; Joel Rodríguez, swimming; and José Alcántara, badminton. While in promoting, protecting or promoting the practice of sport, Lot Méndez, archery, was recognized; Xinoti Castro, rugby; DRIM Academy, soccer and athletics; as well as Sergio Castañeda, athletics specialist in Xochitepec with Club Píxan Kay.
