Coach Melvyn López announced this Monday the 12 players that will make up the national senior basketball team for the First Qualifying Window on November 28 (Sunday) and 29 (Monday) for the 2023 Basketball World Cup.
Coach López reported that the 12 players are Eloy Vargas, Gelvis Solano, Mike Torres, Andrés Feliz, Captain Víctor Liz, Gerardo Suero, Adonys Henríquez, Brandone Francis, Sadiel Rojas, Juan Guerrero, Jonathan Araújo and Jeromy Rodríguez.
López appreciated the quality of these players from the national team, with whom they will seek to succeed in the first two matches of this window.
He reported that training begins on Wednesday 24, at 6:00 in the afternoon, at the Palacio de los Deportes Professor Virgilio Travieso Soto.
The coaching staff that will be with López is made up of coaches José -Maíta- Mercedes, David Díaz, Daniel Seoane, Jonathan Matos and Luis Guzmán, video coordinator.
The delegate will be Junior Páez (Yipi), the doctor is Eliezer Luvin, Carlos De León is the property manager and the physiotherapist Marvin Zamora.
The senior national basketball team makes up Group C of the Americas in the 2023 World Cup Qualifier, along with the Virgin Islands, Canada and the Bahamas.
The matches in this window will be on Sunday 28, from 5:00 in the afternoon between the Bahamas and Canada, and at 8:00 in the evening, the Virgin Islands against the Dominican.
And on Monday 29, the same matches will be played at the same time, against the same rivals with a match as a visitor and another at home, respectively.
The general management of the national team is made up of the president of the Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal), Rafael Uribe, the journalist José Monegro, director of the newspaper El Día, and Fernando Hasbún, president of the SIN Group.

Uribe indicated that the tickets are available to the public by the UEPA Tickets company, at a cost of 600 pesos in the lower part and 300 pesos at the upper level (stands).
