Relay at the highest level in Spanish arbitration. Carlos Velasco Carballo, the president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) who has commanded one of the most complex stages of the group, with the introduction of the VAR in the Spanish competition, will not continue to lead the position, as officially announced by the Spanish Football Federation (FEF), after a meeting in the Ciudad del Fútbol of Las Rozas with the presence of all the referees and attendees.

Velasco Carballo becomes part of the UEFA arbitration organization chart and replaces him as head of CTA Luis Medina Cantalejo, another former international collegiate who had been the presidency of the Andalusian referees until now.

Beyond the change of names, the bet of the Spanish Football Federation (FEF) may also lead to a variation in the Spanish refereeing guidelines, since the one who in the next few hours will be announced as the new head of the referees in Spain defends a line marked by a greater weight in the interpretation of the referee and not so much in the strict application of the regulations, a trend that has generated much criticism in recent times.
