Maximum fine for Anderlecht after the incidents at La Louvière

The Disciplinary Committee of the Belgian Football Union (URBSFA) imposed the maximum fine, 5,000 euros, on RSC Anderlecht due to a series of incidents caused by his supporters during the Belgian Cup match on the lawn of La Louvière, amateur D2 club. Deinze (1B) and Dender (Nationale 1) were also penalized after their round of 16 match.

During the 1-7 victory at La Louvière, the Anderlecht supporters used smoke and sparklers on several occasions. Pyrotechnic material thus landed on the Tivoli athletics track.

As Anderlecht have already been sued several times this season for the behavior of their supporters, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office has demanded the maximum fine of 5,000 euros. The Disciplinary Committee confirmed this sanction, although Anderlecht requested a lighter sanction due to the club’s efforts to tackle this bad behavior.

Deinze was fined 1,500 euros (1,000 staff and 500 suspended) because his supporters used pyrotechnic equipment before the match at Club Bruges (3-0). For the same reasons, before the match against Eupen (0-1), Dender fans must pay a fine of 1,000 euros, half of which is suspended.
