Martín Cardetti, new technical director of Santa Fe

Independiente Santa Fe has a new coaching staff. Argentine Martín Cardetti became the new coach of the Bogota team, which did not qualify for the 2021-II BetPlay League semifinal home runs. The 46-year-old former striker comes from directing Bogotá FC in the second division and will replace Grigori Méndez, however, the Bogotano will continue to be linked to the club.

This will be the seventh club led by Cardetti, who in his time as a player wore the shirts of River Plate, PSG, Real Valladolid, Racing, Deportivo Cali, among others. The Argentine has directed Boston River (Uruguay), Uruguay from Coronado and San Carlos (Costa Rica), Concepcion FC (Argentina), Mushuc Runca (Ecuador) and Bogota FC.

“We have reached an agreement so that as of December 1, Argentine Martín Cardetti will take over as the new technical director of the professional team. Your work team will be made up of: Diego Stefanetti (Technical assistant), Álvaro Carrión (Physical trainer). In addition, they will continue to be linked to the first team: Grigori Méndez, Mauricio Rodríguez and Juan Carlos Quintero, “the club published in a press release.

“We are happy to present Martin Cardetti as the new Technical Director of Independiente Santa Fe”, published Central Agencia, a company that represents the new coach of the Reds, who will have Diego ‘Pollo’ Stefanetti as technical assistant.

This will be the 20th Argentine coach in the history of Independiente Santa Fe. The last time the Cardinals had a foreign coaching staff occurred in mid-2019 under the direction of Patricio ‘Pato’ Camps. Gustavo Costas and Julio Tocker are the only directors from that country who have come out as champions with red.

In the next few days the official presentation of the new coaching staff will be held. At the moment there is no information on the highs and lows of the Bogota team for next year after the season ends. “The technical director has asked the presidency for several hires, which are being advanced and we hope to announce them soon,” the report added.
