María de la O Pérez wins gold in the Spanish Under 19 Championship

A new achievement for the career of an athlete who is breaking all the barriers that appear in her way. After being a regular in the lower categories of the Spanish badminton team, María de la O Pérez continues with her triumphant career and this time she has achieved a new victory defending the colors of the Granada Badminton Club. The Cordovan faced last weekend the Championship of Spain sub 19 in the Asturian capital of Oviedo and has not disappointed. The athlete has won the gold medal with her partner Rubén García in a tournament where this protagonist once again demonstrated the quality that she treasures.

Indeed. María de la O Pérez has managed to win the gold medal in the DX-19 category with her partner Rubén García. The duo of the Granada Badminton Club prevailed in the grand final played on Sunday, November 28, against the pair formed by Rodrigo Sanjurjo and Nikol Carulla. The team made up of the Cordoba was much superior and they beat their rivals in two sets with relative ease (21-13 and 21-18).

In this competition, scoring for the national ranking, around 250 participants from more than 60 clubs from all over Spain have gathered. In addition, a total of 13 autonomous communities have participated: the Balearic Islands, Catalonia, Extremadura, Andalusia, Valencia, Castilla y León, Castilla La Mancha, Galicia, Madrid, the Basque Country, Cantabria and Navarra where the Cordovan athlete has risen in her category and has managed to hang the gold medal defending the colors of the Granada Badminton Club.
