Letter to Kahn! Here a Bayern member declares his exit – Bundesliga

Dear Oliver Kahn,

I’ve been a member of FC Bayern since 2007. A week ago I would not have dreamed that I would have to write this letter to you. With an unshakable “Mia san mia” mentality and a burning Bavarian heart, I have defended my club always and everywhere.

But that’s enough! I hereby cancel my membership at FC Bayern Munich with immediate effect. My ID will be sent to you by post in the next few days.

With your appearance at the annual general meeting last Thursday you made the big FC Bayern small and showered the fans with disregard. Not only did you and President Herbert Hainer NOT allow the discussion about the sponsorship contract with Qatar Airways. You didn’t even mention a topic that affects Bayern fans. Hand-counted zero times you mentioned the word “Qatar”!

“We need eggs!” You poisoned your colleague Tom Bartels on November 1st, 2003 after the 2-0 defeat against Schalke 04. There you were the titan, the plaintext boat!

On Thursday night you had no eggs, you fussed around the topic, moving further away from the fans with each syllable. “It’s crazy what football does to me,” they once said. Excuse me if I add from the bottom of my heart: Football has turned the goal titan into a cuddly little spirit!

The board of directors of which you are the boss complained about the level of heckling. Mr. Kahn, to put it with Carsten Jancker “football god”: “Emotions are part of football!” Who would know better than you that football happens between the ears and in the middle of the chest ?! You, once so crazy about football, Cerberus?

I have always admired FC Bayern for its charitable activities, intelligent management and self-confidence. However, I do not allow myself to be disgraced like an underage primitive if I want to be heard.

I stay connected to my FC Bayern sport. And it hurts my Bavarian soul to have to quote ex-Sechzger Holger Greilich: “Ultimately, what counts is what’s on the pitch.”

With sporty greetings,

Max Boeddeker
