«LDT» protègera… Joe Flacco – TVA Sports

football/nfl/story">

Quarterback Mike White has already lost his job with the New York Jets, as veteran Joe Flacco gets the start against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif will therefore have the task of protecting a 36-year-old pivot who made his last start in the NFL on November 22, 2020. This will obviously depend on the use of the Quebecer, he who has seen ground only on special teams in his first career game with the Jets last week.

To come back to the situation of the quarterbacks of the formation of the Big Apple, it is a whole basket of crabs.

The Jets believed they ended their pivot issues by selecting Zach Wilson with the second overall pick in the last NFL Draft. The 22-year-old is having a horrific first campaign in the Goodell circuit, however. In six games, he completed just 57.5% of his passes for 1,168 yards and four touchdowns. He was also the victim of nine interceptions.

Wilson was injured in week seven of activity and is still unable to return to the game. In his absence, White has secured all three starts. The 27-year-old quarterback made fans’ dreams come true when he threw three touchdown passes in his 34-31 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in his first start.

White was injured in the first quarter of his second game and was replaced by Flacco. He was in office last week, however, but was just horrible in a humiliating 45-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills. In this duel, he was notably the victim of four thefts.

Experience: an asset

At a press conference on Wednesday, head coach Robert Saleh said he believed Flacco’s experience will give his team a better chance of winning against the Dolphins.

The former Baltimore Ravens color bearer is playing his 14th season in the NFL. The Jets had acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles – with whom he did not play a game – at the time of Wilson’s injury. Flacco replaced White in the dying moments of the game against the Bills. He made all three passes he attempted for 47 yards and a touchdown.

Remember that the Jets are still experiencing a season of misery, they who have maintained a record of 2-9 since the start of hostilities in 2021. The last winning season of the club is that of 2015 and its last participation in the playoffs dates back to 2010.
