Kleber on jersey award for Nowitzki: “Simply mega awesome”

dpa Dallas. The upcoming honor for basketball superstar Dirk Nowitzki by the Dallas Mavericks is fully deserved for NBA professional Maxi Kleber.

“The fact that the jersey is pulled up is absolutely deserved and I’m really happy about that. Anyone who has anything to do with basketball knows who Dirk is. He is one of the best of all time, “said Kleber of the German press agency. “That is just super awesome.”

The Mavericks have decided to stop awarding Nowitzki’s long-time jersey number 41 and to hang it under the roof of the hall in a campaign that is common in the USA. The ceremony is scheduled for January 5th at the home game against the Golden State Warriors. Nowitzki is the only player in NBA history to have played 21 seasons for just one team. He ended his career in 2019.

“I’ve seen the last two years. He wasn’t just celebrated in Dallas, but everywhere because he’s just a fair sportsman, “said Kleber. “He won one of the coolest, if not the coolest championships, and he just got so much respect from all sides.” In 2011 Nowitzki was the leader of the team with which the Dallas Mavericks won their first and so far only title in the NBA fetched.
