Judo competition at the Summer Olympics

The judo competition at the Summer Olympics was listed as an official event at the 1964 Summer Olympics. Japan has always been a powerhouse in judo sports.
Judo competitions are played on square mats ranging from 14×14 meters to 16×16 meters, using tatami mats or similar materials, usually green.

Over the years, different weight classes have been set up for athletes to participate in Olympic Judo competitions, and the limits of each weight class have also been changed many times, as shown in the table below.

The men’s game time is 5 minutes, and the women’s game time is 4 minutes. There are 3 referees in the competition, and the chief referee organizes the athletes to compete on the field, evaluate the skills, and announce the winner. There is a referee in each of the two corners to evaluate the scores and the performance of the athletes on the court.
