Although it looked like he had to be a bridge coach waiting for the club to find a replacement for the sacked Carles Marco, Jordi Sargatal has finally become the coach of Bàsquet Girona until the end of the season. The club has confirmed this afternoon that Girona is the definitive coach. Sargatal, who was Marco’s assistant, already led the team in the tight defeat in Guipúzcoa (85-81) on the last day. At the club since its founding in 2014 as a youth coach, Sargatal was also part of the Sant Josep staff. Sargatal, then, will lead the team on Friday in Fontajau against Huesca in what will be the debut of Marc Gasol.
