Joan Dausà’s exciting tribute to Luis Enrique’s daughter

BarcelonaJoan Dausà has premiered the song live Xana, a composition dedicated to the daughter of football coach Luis Enrique who died in August 2019, when she was only 9 years old. It was one of the most exciting moments of the concert that Dausà offered this Thursday at the Palau de la Música as part of the events of the eleventh anniversary of ARA.

“We forged a relationship with Luis Enrique’s family, and some time ago I gave the song as a private gift to him and his wife, Elena,” Dausà told ARA. This relationship began after Xana’s death due to cancer, when Elena’s sister got in touch with the musician from Sant Feliu de Llobregat. “She told me that Xana listened to my music a lot,” Dausà recalls. From the connection between them arose the song he has sung this Thursday at the Palacio de la Música with Luis Enrique and his family following the concert from the stands. “It’s a detail, a tribute to her daughter, to the way they present the memory of Xana,” Dausà added.

Dausà has performed the song in the first half of the ARA concert, which has also served to inaugurate the tour to present the album We have it all.
