Jin Young Ko’s mind-blowing record!

Winner of the CME Group Tour Championship last week, South Korea’s Jin Young Ko also distinguished herself by achieving an incredible streak that no other player before her had managed to do.

After a decent first round (-3) on the Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida, Jin Young Ko played a dream golf course to finally win Sunday at CME Group Tour Championship the closing tournament of the LPGA.

The South Korean beat Nasa Hataoka while Celine Boutier climbed the third step with the American Mina Harigae. Ko’s extraordinary 63 (-9) in the last round allowed him to pocket the $ 1.5 million offered to the winner.

The queen of the greens in regulation

But this victory, his 5th of the season, was mainly made possible thanks to an incredible series of 63 consecutive regulation greens. Yes you read that right 63 greens in a row! Recognize that it makes you dizzy!

Which means that after the first 9 holes of the first leg on the 1st round on Thursday, Jin Young Ko never missed the target once. The golfer, logically rewarded with the title of best player of the season on the LPGA, will even have the opportunity to continue this hallucinating series in January for the opening of the 2022 season.

35 for Steve Stricker in 2021

For comparison, the season record on the PGA Tour is held by Steve Stricker with 35 greens in regulation. Since 1992 and the start of collecting this type of data, the best series have been held by Bob Lohr (51 and 1993) et Mike Heinen (50 in 1995).

Among the women, no player had managed to chain more than 50 consecutive greens.
