Jeremy Renner says ‘Hawkeye’ will explore the consequences of Natasha’s sacrifice

As its director Rhys Thomas told us, ‘Hawk Eye’ “it could have been dark and melancholic” but it has managed to lighten its tone especially from the hand of one of the most recent additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Hailee Steinfeld. This actress, who has signed for the House of Ideas to play Kate Bishop, teams up with Jeremy Renner in the next Marvelita series coming to Disney + on November 24.

Admiring his character and knowing that “No one can ever completely steal the limelight” a Clint Barton, Steinfeld is delighted that “archery is part of Kate’s world” because she has tremendously enjoyed learning more about the sport while building her character, a very powerful heroine by “everything he does physically. It has many abilities and it does not stop evolving on its own.

This evolution does not come alone, of course, because to promote each improvement of the aforementioned archer, we have a reluctant Barton when it comes to assuming his role as a mentor, but that ends up even growing with his pupil. Both push each other to improve, which is interesting “says a very careful Renner when dropping details about this first season that “it has a wonderful base”. You can expect a crazy trip, with lots of fun moments and laughs, and I think that the teamwork of these two archers is very exciting, with great choreography in their action scenes “, he assures.

Laughter without running from the past

‘Hawkeye’ starts dropping that Barton continues to feel tremendously the loss of Natasha aka Black Widow, a character played by Scarlett Johansson that he sacrificed himself in ‘Endgame’ so that the Avengers could stop Thanos’ feet. Thus, although this proposal has more humor and even the occasional Christmas joke, Renner assures that it will also come with difficult moments hand in hand with Clint’s traumas: “is all those things and maybe more than you could hope for.

Thus, although melancholy does not stain everything with too heavy a dramatic load, as Thomas explained to us, There are some issues from Clint’s past that ‘Hawkeye’ is going to dive into, as the consequences of said sacrifice. “I believe that [Natasha] it will always be with him, in this series and in general. But there are things that are explored here. There are many things to explore and I cannot tell you much. But to that, of course, we are going to refer … We are going to try it and explore it again.

We will see if Clint manages to deal with his demons and how his relationship with Kate Bishop works, every Wednesday from November 24 on Disney +.
