Last week, Jean-Michel Saive took part in his first internship with Team Belgium as president of the COIB. His costume has changed but not his athletic heart.

CAs we don’t recover, he took out his “ping” paddle to give the answer to a few athletes who only dreamed of that. He also tried shooting and archery, to better understand the complexity of these disciplines. But Jean-Michel Saive, who celebrated his 52th birthday in the middle of the week, between two presentations by the technical staff already focused on Paris 2024, also met some sponsors and discussed with representatives of the communities during the Team Belgium internship, in recent days in Turkey. New responsibilities for the one who became president of the institution on September 10 to succeed Pierre-Olivier Beckers. A new status which has not changed much for those who knew him as an athlete and who still affectionately call him “Jean-Mi”, but which has encouraged newcomers to address him with more deference. . “I also have to adapt to that and take a different attitude at times while remaining myself …”
