HK “Sochi” voted Jaku in the position of defender in the Eurasian team. Jaks received 2,544 votes in the vote.
Teams from Russia, North America, Scandinavia and Eurasia will compete in the KHL All-Star Game on January 16 in Chelyabinsk. The North American team will include hockey players from the USA and Canada, Scandinavia will include hockey players from Sweden, Finland and Denmark, while the Eurasian team will include players from other countries outside Russia.
Other Latvian hockey players and Riga “Dinamo” legionnaires did not join the All-Star Game after the fans voted. The fans selected one defender and a goalkeeper for each team, as well as two forwards.
Three more players will be selected in the media voting for each team, and the remaining vacancies in the Star Games will be filled by the KHL management. The league will announce the full composition of the teams on December 14. Each team will have two goalkeepers, nine field players and two coaches.
Last year’s KHL season, the Star Game was scheduled to take place in Riga, but was canceled due to a pandemic.
