Great triumph: Viktor Axelsen wins Indonesia Open | BT Badminton

Viktor Axelsen has added another great title to his CV, after he topped the Indonesia Open on Sunday morning.

The Danish Olympic gold medalist won the final in Bali over Kean Yew Loh from Singapore with the figures 21-13, 9-21 and 21-13.

Axelsen was previously the favorite against Loh, who is number 26 in the world rankings, and the Dane thus managed to live up to expectations, even though he was in big trouble in the second set.

The final triumph is a welcome recovery for Axelsen after last week’s disappointing participation in the Indonesia Masters, where he smoked out already in the 1/8 finals.

Viktor Axelsen even acknowledged with a jubilation war when he had won the last ball and secured the victory in the prestigious Super 1000 tournament, which he has never won before.

With the victory in the Indonesia Open, 27-year-old Viktor Axelsen secures a prize check of approximately 400,000 kroner.

At the same time, it is Axelsen’s sixth tournament victory this season.

And the Dane has the opportunity to achieve even more success before he goes on Christmas vacation.

Next week, he will thus be in action in the season finals, and from the 12th to the 19th. December marks the end of the badminton year with the World Cup in Spain.
