Gold-silver day for Cuba in judo de Cali 2021

Havana, Nov 27 (ACN) Cuba concluded today with two gold and two silver medals at the close of the individual judo tournament of the I Junior Pan American Games in Cali 2021, through Thalia Nariño and Omar Cruz, and Sergueis Rodríguez and Idelainnis Gómez, respectively.

With a stage in the Yuri Alvear coliseum, located in the Colombian municipality of Jamundi, Nariño and Cruz arranged for Ippon in the finals of the Dominican Moira Yeilin Morillo and the Argentine Joaquín Alejo Burgos, in that order.

Nariño made her successful debut against the Venezuelan Amarantha Aurora Urdaneta and later surpassed the Ecuadorian Sandy Patricia Ango, while Cruz imitated her against the Dominican Gabriel Antonio Marte, the Mexican Omar Martín Silva and the American Christian Kanoval.

For their part, Rodríguez and Gómez fell for Ippon in the final of the 90 and 70 kilos against the American Alexander Knauf and the Brazilian Launa Oliveira De Calvalho, in that order.

Previously, Rodríguez beat the Brazilian Victor Hugo Da Silva, the Paraguayan Ángel Antonio Gini and the Venezuelan Juan Lorenzo Díaz, while Gómez defeated the Dominican Creymarlin Valdez and the Puerto Rican Sairy Zoe Colón.

This Friday they got bronze medals for Cuba, Kimy Bravo (66 kg) and Thailien Castillo (57 kg), so the Cubans finished with (2-2-2), according to the site www.calivalle2021.com of the multisport event.

Tomorrow the six Cubans will compete in the mixed team tournament, an event in which they must achieve a good result after what was exhibited in the individual.
This Sunday they will compete by group in the divisions of 57, 63 and more than 70 kilos (f), and those of 73, 90 and more than 90 kilos.
