Girona B falls against San Cristóbal

Girona B met again last day with three points against Pobla de Mafumet, after three consecutive days without scoring (four taking into account the rest day), but they did not last long for the taste of victory. Those of Axel Vizuete fell again yesterday, in the Municipal of Ca n’Anglada, against San Cristóbal (2-1), that arrived chaining three ties in a row.

The white-and-reds sought to regain the good feelings of the start of the season and link the second victory, but found a local set ready to tighten and forcing them to protect themselves behind. With five minutes left in the half, San Cristóbal managed to get ahead on the scoreboard with a long shot from Carrasco (1-0) that Morilla could not stop. Just starting the second half, the white-and-blues wanted to corroborate the local lead and scored the second goal, this time from the hand of David Toro.

The Girona team, seeing that the victory was slipping away from them, opted for a triple change that brought in Pau Víctor, Gabri and Mateo. The dominance was tilted towards Girona B, which stepped on the field of play with one more march and made San Cristóbal suffer. Monjonell, in the 64th minute, managed to score a goal that served to cut distances. And from there, the white-and-reds worked hard to be able to at least take a point, on some discreet occasion, like a shot from Gabi with his head going straight to the post, but which was not enough to force a draw. And by contrast, they ended up with one man less, with Richmon’s expulsion with a double yellow.

Girona thus fall to third place, adding four points from the last fifteen possible.
