Violence is always an attitude to be condemned, especially if directed against women. The Municipality of Forio has always placed the defense of women and fragile subjects at the center of its social policies and, on the occasion of 25 November (International Day against Violence against Women), various initiatives have been promoted by the Body. “The Municipality of Forio, as already done in previous years – declares the councilor Gianna Galasso – has decided to implement various initiatives to keep attention on the issue always high. This year in particular, we decided, in agreement with the Municipal Administration, to offer the Women of Forio a self-defense course carried out by the Masters of ASD Olympic Judo Forio, whom I thank for their availability and professionalism. It will not only be a self-defense course, but it will also be an excellent opportunity to share one’s experiences and create that healthy network that can, indeed must be, a support to all of us women “.

Colombo and the red lighting of the Torrione, one of the undisputed symbols of our territory. Many small / large initiatives that involve the population of all ages and which must represent many stages of a virtuous path that leads to the elimination of all forms of violence against women, both psychological and physical. To counter the episodes of violence which, unfortunately, see more and more women victims all over the world, a warning has been issued internationally with a gesture to be made to report, quickly and without making you suspicious, that you are a victim of violence. . The gesture consists of opening the palm of the hand, folding the thumb towards the palm and then clenching the hand into a fist. A simple gesture that has allowed the rescue of many women.
