The soccer players of the German champions Bayern Munich brought record winners Olympique Lyon to their knees in the Champions League. Ironically, Saki Kumagai, who was signed from Lyon at the beginning of the season, scored the winning goal at 1-0 (0-0). The Japanese (69th) headed for a corner for the strong Bayern team. The 2011 world champion had played for the French for eight years and won the Champions League five times before coming to Munich in the summer.
