Dewaest: “I stroked Murillo’s buttocks to annoy him, it worked”

What end of the game would we have experienced at eleven against eleven? Murillo’s blood reaction will prevent you from having a response. Twenty minutes from time, the Panamanian nudged Dewaest on the chest after a heated discussion between the two men. This had escaped the referee but not the VAR. “What happened? I stroked his buttocks to annoy him,” admits the defender of Leuven. “It’s part of the game and here it worked. He was very pissed off. Obviously, I’m not his type of man (laughs).”

We laughed a lot less on the Anderlecht side. “If Mr. Dewaest (sic) thinks it’s done, it’s his right. But I wouldn’t want to do things like that on a football pitch. Amir is a very positive guy and he was really, really pissed off.” , said Van Crombrugge. “But hey, that red card was avoidable. We know Dewaest’s style …”

Murillo’s reaction was not appreciated by the staff and the management of Sporting who took the lead in the stands by reviewing the action on a tablet. Like Ashimeru, also excluded at the last minute but in a decisive sacrifice, Murillo will receive a suspension proposal on Monday. The club will have the right to accept or refuse it but the right-back risks being absent at Antwerp next weekend, at a minimum.
