This Monday, the Colombian Davis Cup team held its first training session in the city of Turin, in Italy, where Group E of the Davis Cup Finals will take place, the most important men’s team event with 18 national teams.

Under the captaincy of Alejandro Falla, the day was divided into two sessions: the first had Robert Farah (10th ATP in doubles) together with Cristian Rodríguez (442th in singles) and then Daniel Galán (111th) with Nicolás Mejía (275th). While in the afternoon the two best singlists in the country repeated and Juan Sebastián Cabal (10th in doubles) and Nicolás Barrientos (552 ° in singles) also performed.

“The first training session was very good, the conditions are good to play tennis. It’s a slow court, rough; the ball slows down a lot and is similar to Madrid in 2019 so it favors us because the points are going to be long, you can get into rallies, “said Falla after finishing the first day.

Daniel Galán, the main racket, also referred to how special it is to represent the country again in this competition. “I am very happy to be back playing Davis Cup, it is something different from what we live every day and I really enjoy it a lot. Being the number one racket is an honor and a pride. I hope that the whole team will go as far as possible and the most important thing is to leave the name of Colombia very high, “he said.

The team will continue its preparation for the Davis Cup Finals on Tuesday, where will debut next Saturday, November 27 against Italy. Then, on Sunday, November 28, he will face the United States.
