CME Group Tour Championship (LPGA Tour): Céline Boutier on

Although co-leader at the start of the last round of the CME Group Tour Championship, Celine Boutier did not really take part in the match between Jin Young Ko, Nelly Korda and Nasa Hataoka. And for good reason: the Frenchwoman was playing in the part preceding that of the other leaders this Sunday, and therefore fought her own battle without worrying about the players mentioned. And after a tasteless third round, it found color in this last round marked by four birdies, two bogeys, and a beautiful eagle at 17 to finish in style. “It was great to finish the game by returning this putt (about 9m, editor’s note), because putting was not my strong point today”, she commented at the microphone of LPGA Tour.

With a score of 68 (-4) this Sunday, Céline Boutier was therefore awarded a beautiful 3rd place at -18, tied with the American Mina Harigae. ” I’m satisfied. It’s one of the toughest fields of the season, our sixth Major in a way, so finishing on a podium is really a very positive result. I could certainly have won a few shots here and there, but I’m happy to end the season on a high note ”, concluded the best French player, who ended the year in 18th place in the Race to the CME Globe. “I am delighted with my season, and very excited to do better next year! “

The victory went, without dispute, to Jin Young Ko. The Korean signed a demonstration by making nine birdies in 18 holes for a huge 63 (-9), the best score of the week, which allowed her to win at -23 with a stroke ahead of Nasa Hataoka (64). The new world number 1 not only retained her title in the event and signed her 5th victory of the season, but also won the Race to the CME Globe for the second year in a row, to the detriment of Nelly Korda, Tied for 5th this Sunday at Shark Golf Club.
