Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova ambassadors at GDL

Both former players will be present at Perla Tapatia from November 10 to 17 while the first edition of the WTA Finals takes place in Latin America. As Legend Ambassadors, they will participate in different community activities whose main objective is to promote tennis not only in the country, but also in Latin America.

The first number one in history showed her enthusiasm for participating in a unique event in the history of Latin America. “It is wonderful to reflect on the growth and global nature of women’s tennis, and I am excited to be part of the AKRON WTA Finals Guadalajara and that our championship is being welcomed in Latin America for the first time,” commented Chris Evert, who also predicted that the fans will have a great show.

On the other hand, the player with the most individual titles in history (167), recalled her participation in the WTA Finals and said she was excited about this edition. In addition, Navratilova spoke about the Mexican presence in this contest. “I will be cheering them on as they conclude the season in a big way, it is particularly exciting that, with Giuliana Olmos, Mexico will have its first representative at the end of the season,” said Martina.
