Champions League: Leipzig creates record victory, ManCity defeats PSG – Sport

With the last contingent, RB Leipzig, plagued by the corona chaos, dismantled the small FC Bruges and preserved the chance of wintering in Europe. The German runner-up, supervised by co-trainer Achim Beierlorzer, prevailed 5-0 (4-0) against the completely overwhelmed Belgian champions on Wednesday evening and thus decided the direct duel for third place in group A.

If Leipzig and Bruges are tied with four points after the last matchday in two weeks, RB can continue playing in the Europa League. Christopher Nkunku (12th minute) provided the early and well-deserved lead with his sixth premier class goal of the season. Emil Forsberg (17th) increased by a penalty kick, André Silva’s header (26th) was in principle the preliminary decision. Again it was Forsberg (45th + 1) who set the next highlight shortly before the break.

Nkunku put the finishing touches again in stoppage time and made RB’s biggest win in the Champions League perfect. Leipzig will play against Manchester City on December 7th for the winter in the European Cup, Bruges at Paris Saint-Germain.

ManCity defeat PSG and Messi

Manchester City have been confirmed as Group A winners. After falling behind, the English soccer champions turned the game around against their direct pursuer Paris Saint-Germain and won 2-1 (0-0). With twelve points, the team of coach Pep Guardiola can no longer be displaced from first place with one remaining matchday.

After Kylian Mbappé’s opening goal (50th) it looked as if the French capital club could shake off the unrest surrounding coach Mauricio Pochettino’s transfer rumors. But Raheem Sterling (63rd) and Gabriel Jesus (76th) led the Cityzens to victory. The Parisians can no longer be displaced from second place, as Leipzig achieved a 5-0 (4-0) win at Club Bruges.

In group D, too, the first two places are definitely already taken. Real Madrid retaliated with a 3-0 (2-0) win at FC Sheriff Tiraspol for the surprising 1-2 in the first leg. Former Munich-based David Alaba (30th), ex-international Toni Kroos (45th +1) and Karim Benzema (55th) met.

Fifth win for Liverpool

Thiago Alcantara paved the way with the 1-0 (52nd) the way to the fifth victory in the fifth game of Liverpool, which prevailed with 2-0 (0-0) against FC Porto. Mohamed Salah (70th) put the finishing touches. Since AC Milan scored their first victory in the parallel game with a 1-0 (0-0) win at Atlético Madrid, these two clubs and Porto still have hope of surviving the group stage.

Besiktas Istanbul, on the other hand, no longer has a chance to hibernate in European competition. The Turks gave up a lead in the Borussia Dortmund group against Ajax Amsterdam and lost 1: 2 (1: 0) after two goals from Sebastien Haller. Ajax can no longer take first place. Sporting Lisbon is also further after the 3-1 (2-0) against BVB.
