Champions League: Bruges defeat qualifies PSG

PSG lost in England against Manchester City (2-1), this Wednesday evening, during the 5th day of the Champions League. But this defeat does not prevent his qualification for the round of 16. The capital club can thank RB Leipzig, wide winner of Bruges in Belgium (5-0), in particular thanks to a goal from Christopher Nkunku. The Germans’ victory allows them to regain third place in Group A with four points, with a better goal difference over Bruges, also four points.

With his eight points in his pocket, PSG can no longer be caught on the 6th and last European day of the year 2021. He will host Bruges on December 7 at 6:45 pm at the Parc des Princes. A meeting that will really count for nothing for the Parisians since they are also assured of second place in the group. Manchester City has 12 points and therefore qualifies as first in this group. The only issue of the final day will therefore concern the qualification in the European League between Leipzig and Bruges.

The prospect of second place means that PSG will fall on a group first in the round of 16 in February and March 2022. For the time being, Bayern Munich, Ajax Amsterdam and Liverpool are assured of this first place and will therefore be possible adversaries.
