Three Spanish U-18 clubs, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, will participate in the 2021 International Youth Championship (IYC). The event will be held at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali.
The Indonesian U-20 All-Star Team, is believed to be the representative of the 2021 IYC host. The event was initiated by Pancoran Soccer Field in collaboration with the DKI Jakarta and Bali Provincial Governments.
The 2021 IYC group stage will be held in Bali on December 4-8. While entering the match for third place and the final, the match will be held at JIS on December 11.

“This year, teams from abroad are willing to compete in Jakarta for very fundamental reasons. Because in Jakarta there will be a soft launching of a stadium with an international reputation, namely JIS,” said Gede Widiade as chairman of Pancoran Soccer Field.
“Then the chosen ones in the Indonesia All Star are young people from all over the country. Who are they? They were selected during the screening in July-August based on existing quality and screened by experienced coaches,” Gede added.
The Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, positively welcomed the IYC 2021. According to him, the tournament was also to introduce JIS to the world’s eyes.
In addition, Anies stated that IYC 2021 can be a means of information for the world community that Jakarta and Bali can already be visited by foreign tourists. Given, it has been a long time since travelers from abroad have come there due to the corona virus pandemic.
“The DKI Provincial Government is very happy and enthusiastic about collaborating with the Bali Provincial Government in the IYC 2021 program, as well as being part of the JIS soft launch,” said Anies.
“JIS is an offering from the DKI Provincial Government to all Indonesian people as a new symbol of collaboration, inclusiveness, sustainability of urban regeneration and the economic revival of the City of Jakarta,” Anies continued.
The JIS soft launching program in the form of IYC 2021, is a form of coaching and educating young Indonesian football athletes. It is also hoped that it will give birth to talented football seeds that can be useful in the future.
“We appreciate the initiative to organize the 2021 IYC soccer tournament carried out by the Pancoran Soccer Field in collaboration with the DKI and Bali Provincial Governments,” said the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster.
“This is in line with sport tourism which we really need as a way to support and generate tourism. We hope that the implementation of this tournament can be a role model in fostering football for young children in Indonesia, especially in Bali and Jakarta,” Wayan added.
