Los New England Patriots They started the 2021 season in a pretty daunting situation: 2-4 record, hard to beat the Houston Texans and staying in the “already merit” in front of teams like the Dolphins, Cowboys and Buccaneers.
Six weeks later the Patriots are 8-4, leaders in their division and with six consecutive victories in great form against their rivals. That is why we are already thinking about whether this team brings enough to excite its fans and not just think about the playoffs. but to go to the last resort.
Without a doubt, the defense was already his most powerful weapon, even with that losing record, but it has been key for these last winning weeks. In just the last four games, the Patriots have scored 63 points and left their opponents at zero in the second half. In the last six games they have caused 4 turnovers and 17 steals.
If we add to this that certain areas of the offensive –such as the running attack– are finding a better rhythm, and that Mac Jones he looks more accurate in his passing, we can understand a little more about the Patriots’ dominance in recent weeks. Although there is still much to do in the season, there are things that we cannot stop commenting: the Patriots found the formula to be competitive again not only in the AFC Eastbut in your lecture.
Bill Belichick again found a way to win forcefully after a year of adjustments and restructuring in many aspects of the team. Although many already savor a Super Bowl between Tampa Bay and New England, although let’s face it, it is more because of the curiosity of an incredible duel that would even make a documentary, fiction film or series of Netflix.
The reality is that New England still has quite complicated matches left: two divisionals against the Bills, that could alter everything, and Colts, who like the Patriots, have found their rhythm and improved a lot throughout the season.
However, after seeing how things have adjusted and how they have managed to find a good rhythm, we can’t help but get excited – and even excited – if we are fans of the Pats. There is still a long way to go, but not many of us thought we would be here in 2021 and that is worth celebrating.
