Augsburg’s captain Jeffrey Gouweleeuw has been infected with the corona virus. According to the Bundesliga club, a PCR test brought the positive results. The 30-year-old Dutchman is doing well, he has not shown any symptoms so far, it said in the statement from FC Augsburg. The defense attorney is in quarantine at home.

Gouweleeuw had already missed the Bundesliga match at Hertha BSC in Berlin on Saturday (1: 1). After a Corona case became known in his immediate family environment, he was “isolated from the team as a precautionary measure”. A first test at Gouweleeuw initially gave an unclear result.
