“Blue Jackets” will immortalize the 61st issue of the club’s legend Nash

The Columbia Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League announced Friday that they will capture the 61st issue of the club’s legendary striker Rick Nash.

The shirt is scheduled to be lifted to the ceiling of the Nationwide Arena on March 5, when the home game against the Boston Bruins will take place. Nash will be the first Blue Jackets player to be immortalized by the team.

Nash announced the end of his NHL career after the 2018/2019 season. He is the highest-scoring player in the Blue Jackets (674 games) with the most goals (289), the most scores (258), and the unit’s all-time scorer with a total of 547 scores.

On the Columbus team, Nash spent nine seasons from 2002 to 2012, with the team captains in the last four seasons. In the summer of 2021, Nash was replaced by the New York Rangers.

Thanks to the Blue Jackets organization, it was hard when I was replaced. At first, it wasn’t even nice to come back, but I knew my heart would always be “Blue Jackets,” Nash said.

The Columbus unit selected the striker with the first number in the 2002 draft. During his NHL career, Nash played 1,060 games for a total of 437 goals and 368 assists. During his career, he has also played for the Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers.
