BC present at the Youth Pan American Games – La Voz de la Frontera

Baja California will have 35 representatives in the next 2021 Pan American Youth Games, which will be held from November 25 to December 5 in the cities of Cali and Valle de Cauca, Colombia. This event is designed for athletes from 14 to 22 years of age and will feature 3,500 athletes from the 41 Panam Sports member nations, competing in a total of 27 disciplines.

BC has been characterized by being the cradle of many athletes who have excelled in their different disciplines from a very young age, and it is expected that this next competition will not be the exception, since there will be participation in 15 sports, such as bowling, boating, cycling , fencing, artistic gymnastics, handball, judo, karate, weightlifting, swimming, rowing, taekwondo, archery, indoor volleyball and baseball.

The largest contingent will be rowing with six Sanfelipenses Aylin Ibarra, Mónica García, Adolfo Peralta, Emilio García, Gabriel Díaz and Luis García, followed by four in canoeing with Stephanie Rodríguez, Aylin González, Adrián Félix and Itzel Torres; in fencing with Natalia Botello, Diego Cervantes, Jimena Torres and Hugo Abel Castro.

The Baja California judo will contribute three athletes to the Mexican team, being Kassandra Espinoza, Omar Silva and Ángel García; as well as indoor volleyball with José Hernández, Yasutaka Sanay and Christian Álvarez; and baseball will also have a third of cachanillas with Randy Romero, Gilberto Vizcarra and Alemao Hernández.

The artistic gymnastics of Baja California will feature Mario Rojas and Yamil González in the National Team; and swimming will also contribute two athletes to the tricolor with Diego Camacho and Maximiliano Vega.

The sports that will have an athlete in the selected team will be bowling with Axel Martínez, cycling (road) with Francisco Contreras, handball with Héctor Pérez, karate with Ericka Luque, weightlifting with Antonio Govea, tae kwon do with Leslie Soltero and shooting with bow with Akshara Licea.

In the youth Pan-American fair, Baja California will also have a presence with coaches, including José Manuel Loyola in rowing, Rudybelsy Melgarejo in cycling, Alain Tandrón and Maiquel Rodríguez in fencing, José Torres and Luis Sosa in artistic gymnastics, Erik Galván and Raúl Palma in swimming.
