Baseball – Neptune 1945, Dutch receiver Rudy Van Heydoorn arrives from Japan – Sport

After the Victor Draijer exterior, the 1945 Neptune announces the arrival of another Dutchman, the receiver Rudy Van Heydoorn, coming from five seasons played in Japanese independent leagues.

Rudy Van Heydoorn was born in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic on April 17, 1989, his clear Dutch origins earned him the nationality of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. He began his professional career in Rookie League in 2007 with the organization of the Seattle Mariners with whom he went up to Single A.

In 2012 he moved to the Dutch Hoofdklasse with Amsterdam and in 2013 he moved to Neptunus Rotterdam in a season in which he had 7 home runs. The Dutch national team also arrives for Rudy. With the Orange jersey he plays a European championship, a Haarlem Week and a World Port Tournamet.

In 2014 he arrived in Italy signed by Collecchio in the Federal Serie A, where he also wears the Verona jersey. After the Italian parenthesis, he moved to Japan hired by Pirates Ehime Manadrin in the Shikoku Island Independent League. The excellent numbers earned him the move from 2020 to the BC League, the highest level independent league in Japan.

In five seasons in the east he won three titles, two with the Pirates in the Shikoku Island League and one in the BC League with the Nagano team in 2020 when he also won his second prize as an MVP in Japan. In 2021, again in Nagano, the season with 8 home runs bringing the total number of homeruns in Japan to 35.
