Bagnaia is already preparing for next season dominating the official training sessions in Portimão

BarcelonaThe Italian Francesco Peak Bagnaia (Ducati Desmosedici GP21) will start first in the Algarve MotoGP Grand Prix at the Portimão circuit, after finishing fifth pole position consecutive. Bagnaia, the fittest rider, has seen the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha YZR M 1) win the World Championship thanks to the points cushion of the first races. The Italian, however, wants to make the last two races a declaration of intent for next season, when one of his rivals should be a Marc Márquez absent in Portugal due to physical problems.

Bagnaia aspires to be the heir of a Valentino Rossi who continues to say goodbye to the competition with discreet results. Quartararo, by the way, will come out in seventh place. Australian Jack Miller and Mallorcan Joan Mir will start alongside Bagnaia in the front row of the race (2pm / DAZN and Movistar Plus).

‘Pole’ by Sergio García Dols

In Moto2, Madrid’s Raúl Fernández (Kalex) will be ahead of his teammate and World Championship leader, Australian Remy Gardner. Despite suffering a sharp drop on Friday, Gardner kept pace with Fernandez and will defend the lead in the penultimate race of the season (3:30 p.m.).

Finally, in Moto3, the Valencian Sergio García Dols (Gasgas) won the first pole of his career a few days after being in the hospital for the severe fall he suffered in Austin. The leader of the World Cup, Pedro Acosta from Murcia (KTM), will start from 14th position. The Italian Dennis Foggia (Honda), the only driver with aspirations to beat Acosta in the general, finished fourth and is confident of being able to reach the last race of the World Championship still with options. The race starts at 12.20 pm.
