Bogotá, November 30, 2021- At Christmas, Bogotá is improving, that is why the District Institute of Recreation and Sports (IDRD) presents a varied sports and recreational offer to enjoy this Christmas in the country’s capital. The activities were designed so that children, young people, adults and the elderly are scheduled to live a Christmas during the entire month of December where sports, recreation, physical and mental health are the priority. Psychomotor Festival
Boys and girls in early childhood will be the main protagonists of the days in which the psychomotor development of minors is sought to be strengthened by working in different areas. They will be held from Wednesday 1 to Sunday 3 December, at CEFE Fontanar del Río, CEFE San Cristóbal and the Cayetano Cañizares and Autopista Sur parks.
Sports Leagues- Bogotá Live
From December 1 to 15, the Bogotá triathlon, swimming, badminton, squash, table tennis, karate, judo, billiards, skating, taekwondo, softball, baseball and cycling leagues will compete in different venues around the city. Citizens will be able to see more than 3,000 athletes throughout Bogotá.
Night of Candles
On Tuesday, December 7, those attending the Simón Bolívar and El Tunal metropolitan parks will experience a magical night with mapping, lighting and a musical show to celebrate the traditional night of candles in Bogotá.
The Night Cycle Route is back
After two years, the traditional Ciclovía Nocturna returns to make Thursday, December 9, a night like no other. It will be 98.4 kilometers long, 11 routes to move around the city, Cycle walk and various activities to enjoy from 6:00 pm to 12 am
Old District Library
The elderly of our city are the protagonists of the day on Friday, December 10, with the old district library La Tercera se Mueve, which will take place in El Tunal park, with a great musical show. It is expected to have the presence of 1,200 people from all the towns of Bogotá.
Bogotá Vive Christmas Race
On Saturday, December 11, Simón Bolívar Park will be the epicenter of the Bogotá Vive Christmas race that will test the best in various circuits. 3,000 people are expected to participate in sports and recreation. Additionally there will be five DJ stations and a musical show.
Bogotá Team Awards
This 2021 has been a year of national and international triumphs, where our athletes from # EquipoBogotá raised the colors of the city and reached their goals. On Tuesday, December 14, at the Palacio de los Deportes, the best athletes from the country’s capital will be awarded. An event in which they will be honored for their achievements, triumphs and all the joys they gave Bogotá this year. They are without a doubt the pride of the city.
Final Tournament From the Field to the Stadium
To close the Christmas activities with a flourish, on Wednesday, December 22, the El Campín stadium will host the grand final of the district women’s soccer tournament From the Field to the Stadium, with the best exponents of women’s football from Bogotá.
