Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan thinks Aston Villa should try to appoint Erik ten Hag. The Villans are without a manager following the resignation of Dean Smith.
Steven Gerrard is currently heavily linked to Aston Villa. Jordan is not in favor of that. “The difference between working in Scotland and the English Premier League is huge,” he told talkSPORT. “If, like Villa says, you are for a elite manager If I want to go, I don’t think Gerrard is an option.”
Jordan thinks that Ten Hag does fit that profile. “I think they should go for Ten Hag. If Tottenham manage to bring in Antonio Conte, why shouldn’t Villa be able to bet on Ten Hag with all the resources they have through their owner?”
Ten Hag’s name has already been mentioned in the talkSPORT studio when it came to the Aston Villa vacancy. A supporter of the club told on the phone that he hopes for the arrival of the Ajax trainer. “We have owners who want to spend money and the selection is not bad. We should actually look at Erik ten Hag from Ajax,” said the fan, among other things.
