Antwerp receives European death blow in 95th minute after crazy lock against Frankfurt UEFA Europa League 2021/2022

In the Deutsche Bank Arena, Antwerp’s assignment was pre
clear and simple: win or game over in Europe. Yet The Great Old began
dramatic to his match, because on the fifteen minutes it was immediately price for
Frankfurt. Kamada (ex-STVV) cleverly ran into Almeida’s back and pushed the 1-0
through Butez in goal.

The visitors struggled with the high German pressure, but not much later the signs were almost level again. Trapp didn’t get enough away from a corner, after which both Dessoleil and Frey refused to open the present.

Frankfurt continued to dictate the law, but both Kostic and Lindström lacked precision in finishing. Antwerp gasped for breath, but around half an hour the visitors suddenly came alongside. Nainggolan took a corner kick wonderfully and opened his account in Antwerp’s payroll.

Even after the break, the home team immediately took control of the game, but that did not lead to real opportunities. We did get to see fireworks next to the field, literally. While the Antwerp fans first started waving Bengali fire, not much later a bomb went off behind Butez’s goal. The bill follows.

The result was a short interruption, but a few moments later the ball was suddenly in the net. Fischer sent a free kick to the second zone, where De Laet fumbled in the 1-2. Still, the party was short-lived, because the VAR still rejected the goal after millimeter work.

Frankfurt woke up with a start, but shortly before the start of extra time, Antwerp struck again. After a lovely pass from Yusuf, Samatta came face to face with Trapp. The Tanzanian did not hesitate and pushed the 1-2 in flawlessly.

Antwerp seemed on its way to the ultimate delirium, but in the 95th minute The Great Old still fell from its pink cloud. Substitute Paciência climbed higher than everyone and everything and headed the equalizer wonderfully against the ropes.

An anticlimactic full on, which means that the European adventure is already over

Antwerp.
