Antwerp keeper is in Guinness Book of Records for longest goalkeeper ever | football

The Iranian goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand, who is loaned by Antwerp to the Portuguese Boavista, was included in Guinness’ record book on Thursday. He gets a place for the longest goalkeeper throw on a football field.

Alireza Beiranvand set his record on October 11, 2016 in the World Cup qualifier against South Korea. The Iranian then threw the leather 61.26 meters away.

Iran qualified for the World Cup in Russia and Beiranvand showed himself by stopping a penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo against Portugal.

The now 29-year-old goalkeeper was removed from the Iranian competition by Antwerp in the summer of 2020. He made 12 appearances for the Great Old last season, but was unable to convince. Last summer he moved to Boavista on loan. He was already 6 times between the posts.
