The sad event took place during the city’s annual Christmas parade. The driver of a sport utility vehicle (SUV) deliberately grabbed the crowd, killing six people and leaving around 50 injured. The 39-year-old faces five counts of attempted murder.
Watt grew up in Waukesha and played some of his college football with the Wisconsin Badgers. This is not the first time that he has taken out his wallet to help victims of tragedies.
