Abinader reiterates support for Dominican basketball team

SANTO DOMINGO.-The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, reiterated this Thursday the support of the Dominican Government to the national senior basketball team, which will play the First Window of the 2023 World Cup Qualifier, on Sunday 28 and Monday 29 November, facing Virgin Islands, in the Palacio de los Deportes Virgilio Travieso Soto.

Abinader made the statement after receiving a visit from the tricolor team, the coaching staff and executives of the Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedomba), in the Ambassadors Room of the National Palace.

“In truth, it is pleasant and of great pride for the Government to receive the visit of a group of young people who, like you, are a true example of dedication and improvement for Dominican society,” the president emphasized.

During the activity, President Abinader was accompanied by the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza; Franklin de la Mota, Administrative Vice Minister of Sports; Rafael Uribe, president of Fedombal and Melvyn López, head coach of the national team.
