Tested positive for COVID-19, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not be able to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

According to what the NFL Network reported, Rodgers did not receive his two doses of the vaccine against the virus, which automatically excludes him from the next meeting of his family. Rodgers had however told the media before the start of the season that he was vaccinated against COVID-19.

If he had been vaccinated, two negative tests received by Sunday would have made him eligible to play.

Young Jordan Love, Green Bay’s first pick in the 2020 draft, could therefore get the first start of his NFL career.

One of the team’s wide receivers, Davante Adams, is also afflicted with COVID-19. His name was put on the absenteeism list due to the virus before week 8 and still has not been given the green light to return to action.

Barkley too?

Another high-profile NFL player is in trouble with COVID-19, as New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley tested positive.

According to NFL Network, he will need to take two negative tests in a row within a 24-hour window and not experience symptoms before being eligible to play in Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Barkley has not played since week five of the regular calendar due to an ankle injury.

Head instructor Joe Judge mentioned that 13 people from the New York organization had tested positive for the coronavirus; only one in that group, running backs manager Burton Burns, received a second positive test. According to the SNY channel, Barkley was not one of the 13 individuals concerned.
