Aaron Rodgers and the Packers will have to pay

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was fined $ 14,650 for violations of COVID-19 protocols on Tuesday night.

The NFL also concluded that wide receiver Allen Lazard would receive the same penalty while the American team will have to pay $ 300,000 for the offense.

The penalties were imposed since both players attended a team Halloween party. However, being unvaccinated, they were not allowed to be there. Only gatherings of three athletes are allowed outside the sports training facilities for players who have not received any dose of vaccine.

The teammates also failed to wear masks in areas where it was mandatory to do so.

According to the NFL Network, if other violations of this rule are committed, they could have more severe consequences, such as the loss of draft picks.

Lame excuses

In the morning, Rodgers returned to his statements about the ambiguity related to his vaccination status having caused a stir in the world of the NFL.

The 37-year-old athlete provided his interlocutors with an unfinished explanation to, in a way, apologize.

“I made comments and people felt misled,” Rodgers said, in words reported by the NBC Sports Network. To all those who have felt this way following my comments, I take full responsibility for them. ”

The veteran had said during the summer to have been “immune” when asked if he had received his doses of vaccine against the coronavirus. He had obviously played on words, since a few days ago he admitted to having undergone homeopathic treatments recommended by his personal doctor to increase his antibody levels and not to having received a vaccine.

Rodgers’ name has since been placed on the list of players who must comply with COVID-19 protocol. He was forced to miss last Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the absence of their starting quarterback, the Packers bet on young Jordan Love. The roster suffered a 13-7 setback, with the 23-year-old completing 19 of his 34 runs for 190 yards and one interception.
