At the Judo Club, training is offered according to age groups, from 4 years old (judo awakening). Classes are taught by Jemel Derras, black belt 4e dan and graduate professor. He has more than forty years of experience as a trainer to his credit, which he acquired in the neighboring town of Hussigny-Godbrange. Beyond the practice, with the help of his assistant coaches, he puts his dynamism at the service of the students to teach them politeness, courage, honor, modesty, respect, self-control and friendship.
Trainings take place in the dojo, place du 8-Mai-1945 (access via the boules pitch rue Rougeleck): ages 4 to 13: Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. 4 to 8 years old: Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. 9-year-olds: Friday from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. 14 years old-adults: Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. (judo-jujitsu).
In order to be able to practice judo in good conditions, the members of the club added additional tatami mats to the dojo, and put in place wall protections and a wooden floor. These facilities were installed in agreement with the municipality, the Karate Club and the Nippon Kempo, which also benefit from these facilities.
Two free trial courses
Having started in July, the club did not benefit from any subsidy, but was able to count on the sponsorship and the help of the Judo Club of Audun-le-Roman.
The members of the board are Jemel Derras, president and trainer; Melissa Derras, Treasurer; Latifa Er Rafik, secretary; Gérald Tonello assistant secretary and assistant coach. Members of the board of directors: Loualid Fadel, Philippe Laroche, Ludovic Leleux and Samir Derras who are also assistant coaches.
