“Zemgale” / LLU wins OHL leading team duel “Mogo” / LSPA

In the duel of the leading teams of the “Optibet” Hockey League, the leader “Mogo” / LSPA won the guests “Zemgale” / LLU on Saturday.

“Mogo” / LSPA celebrated the victory in Jelgava with the result 2: 1 (1: 0, 0: 0, 1: 1).

The goal scored by Ričards Grīnbergs in the 13th minute allowed the guests to win the first period with 1: 0 and also be in the lead after 40 minutes with the same result. In the second minute of the third period Rūdolfs Polcs achieved 2: 0, but in the 13th minute Artūrs Ozoliņš realized a penalty shot and slightly reduced the advantage of the Rigans.

Linards Lipskis repelled 33 shots at the “Mogo” / LSPA goal, but at the end of the second field Rihards Cimermanis dealt with 31 broadcasts.

On Saturday, “Olimp” / ”Venta 2002” won “Liepāja” with guests 3: 0 (1: 0, 2: 0, 0: 0).

Mikēlis Rēdlihs, Dmitrijs Korņilovs and Edijs Brahmanis scored for the guests. Andrejs Bončs-Brujevičs repelled all 23 throws in the goal of the Rigans.

In the OHL overall ranking, the first place with 19 points accumulated in ten games is occupied by “Mogo” / LSPA, but further with 16 points in 11 matches is “Zemgale” / LLU, followed by “Liepāja” with 14 points in ten battles. Fourth with 12 points in 11 dues is “Olimp” / ”Venta 2002”, then is HS “Riga” with seven points in nine games. Riga’s “Prizma” is in sixth place with three points in seven battles, but the last place is taken by Daugavpils “Dinaburga”, which has not yet been able to win points in nine duels.

Last season the OHL Cup was won by Olimp / Venta 2002, but in the regular season the victory was celebrated by Zemgale / LLU.

The first Latvian hockey championship took place 90 years ago.
