Xàtiva Badminton achieves 14 medals in Enguera and Murcia

In the TTR of Enguera, ten athletes from the sub-11, sub-15 and sub-19 categories participated, obtaining 3 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronzes. In sub-11, Arnau Ballester won the gold after beating Mauro Juan, from CB Onil, 15-12 and 15-9 in the final; and gold in doubles, along with Marc Martín, from CB San Fernando de València, winning in the final against Ricardo García and Gorka Santonja by 15-11 and 17-15.

In the sub-15, Andrea Orquín and Jesús Cimas were second, silver medal, in mixed doubles, falling in the final against Sara Sáez and Quique Gil, from CB Drop València, by 21-9 and 21-16. Sarai Ramón and Ximo Torres also competed. In individual, Cimas got the bronze after losing in the semifinals against Mateo Fernández, after defeating his clubmate Ximo Torres in the quarterfinals. Andrea achieved the silver, yielding in a very tight final against Sara Sáez by 21-18 and 21-16.

The athletes under-17 of CB Xàtiva competed in sub-19, to make contact with this category and add points for the national ranking. Maria Sanz and Vicent Molina won gold in mixed doubles, beating Lucía Chorques and Aaron López 21-10 and 21-19 in the final; and Molina and David Polop achieved silver in men’s doubles, falling in the final to Natxo Cervelló and Jorge Jerez by 21-5 and 21-15. Jaume Tur and Hugo Medina also played.

In the TTR of Las Torres de Cotillas, in Murcia, the five athletes from Setabe who took part in seniors returned with six metals: 2 gold and 4 silver. Santiago Villanueva and Carlos Martínez got the gold medal in the men’s doubles DM 60, after winning all the matches. Santiago returned to the podium as an individual, with silver after losing in the final to José Belmente by 9-21 and 11-21. Carlos was fourth. At +50, José Luis Llopis achieved silver when he lost in the decisive match against Ignacio Moreno by 21-16 and 21-13. Julio Martín and Llopis went up to the first drawer to hang the gold after prevailing in all +40 matches. At +30, Julio Martín and Mª José Mompó lost in the doubles final to Ángel Rodríguez and María Isabel Sáez by 14-21, 21-18 and 21-12, achieving silver. In individual, Mompó added another silver, in the category of +35.

Next weekend, Xàtiva Badminton will be present at the U-15 and U-19 Youth Master to be held in El Campello. Sarai Ramón, Ximo Torres, Andrea Orquín and Jesús Cimas will compete.
